PikMykid is looking to hire a Director of Finance and Accounting. This hire will report to the COO and work collaboratively with others as a member of the executive leadership team. The individual will lead the finance efforts at the company and will spearhead the company’s financial forecasting, annual budgeting, key performance indicator (KPI) reporting, operating plan variance analysis, annual audit, as well as other strategic initiatives across the organization. This person will be a key contributor to the future growth of the company.

We’re looking to add an experienced Director of Finance to our team as we navigate the next phase of growth as a company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drive the annual financial plan and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with the executive team. Refine and improve financial modeling for optimal forecasting of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows
  • Develop monthly and ad-hoc financial and KPI reporting for the department heads, including variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with departmental stakeholders to understand their needs and provide financial and analytical support with the goal of optimizing business results
  • Manage the development of budgeting, financial forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across the company
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial data systems and flows to ensure data integrity amongst different data sources and uncover integration opportunities
  • Analyze current and past trends in KPIs, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and headcount
  • Responsible for managing bookkeeping functions and accounting resources
  • Lead audit reviews, including a selection of audit partner, and manage all internal control operations
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives such as partnerships, pricing, acquisitions, proposals and contracts, incentive compensation programs, and employee benefit programs
  • Effectively engage with both local and global accounting and finance teams to drive the process of data collection and reporting across the organization and improve the quality and efficiency of the close process.
  • Manage customer billing, payables, and select vendor relationships (e.g., outsourced bookkeeper, auditors, and banks)
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes
  • Lead buildout of the finance department as the company scales

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in FP&A specifically
  • Excellence in financial theory, forecasting, and financial (US GAAP) accounting
  • Exceptional quantitative analysis skills, including advanced Excel modeling
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline, MBA a plus
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to focus on complex financial problems; strong detail-orientation and commitment to accuracy
  • Start-up experience (i.e. ability to manage multiple time-sensitive activities)
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively; highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask, collaborate, and work well within a team environment

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior EdTech or B2B SaaS industry experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Gusto, Salesforce
